Hybrid Progress at Auto Show

10% of the new models shown the recent Detroit Auto Show were hybrids, some getting 150-mpg.

Decades of lobbying for alternative energies are paying off, in models like the Chevrolet Volt, Saturn Vue 2, the Honda CR-Z, BMW's X6, the Toyota A-BAT and the Jeep Renegade, (picture below), which gets 110-mpg.

General Motors also building factories to convert switch grass and even recycled trash into bio fuels. Some of the new models can drive 40 miles totally gas-free with one overnight plug-in recharge.

Let's continue to offer changes like this our full enthusiasm and some real legislative support!

White House erases email evidence

CIA

Box

CIA

Not only were videotapes of USA torture destroyed, but now the White House is claiming over a year of Emails concerning the 'CIA leak case,' are not available, claiming the backup tapes with the emails on them was reused "in accordance with normal business procedure."

This lie is about as ridiculous as Bush saying "the dog ate my homework."
And such destruction is illegal: destruction of evidence is illegal and destruction of official White House documents is illegal

Delegates

This total, current delegate count is immediately updated after every new primary election. The delegate count is not always the same as the popular vote. The key to winning the nomination is the number of delegates voting for a candidate at the nominating convention.

The Republican primary in South Carolina stirred up lots of controversy with accusations of dirty tricks, most attacking Romney's religion and MacCain's patriotism.

The acrimony between the Clinton and Obama'camps is growing intense with Bill Clinton making accusations of voter suppression in Nevada. (Who popular vote his wife won.)

The Democratic Primary in South Carolina is next Saturday, Jan. 26th., the first Democratic primary in a state with a substantial black population, and most Afro-Americans now appear to be shifting to strong support for Obama. The contest is expected to be dramatic.

US Marine on the Run: Rape & Murder?

MARINE CORPORAL Cesar Laurean, accused of raping and murdering a fellow Marine (who he got pregnant), might have fled to Mexico. Complaints filed by the woman to her commanding officer were dismissed, ignored and attempted to be covered-up by military officials.

A hard things needs to be said here: all soldiers are not heroes --although that is the propaganda we're suppose to spin these days.

Someone who joins the army is a soldier. Someone who risks their life or saves the life of another is a hero. This is important because if we accept the propaganda of "all soldiers are heroes" then that would mean our invasion and occupation of Iraq would, therefore, be heroic.

It's like the false idea we're over in Iraq because "we're fighting for freedom." This is not true. We're fighting for Oil and Israel.

It's a sad a tragic story. Both in Iraq and also with Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean and 20-year old Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach.

Even worse, guaranteed to make it worse, is to allow ourselves to be pacified by such cheap and easy spin and propaganda. Not all soldiers are heros. Not all wars are good, nor for 'freedom.'

In truth, our actions in Iraq are as evil as the crimes for which Cesar Armando Laurean is accused.

Israeli-Palestinian Violence Grows Worse

Four days after Bush ended his 'Peace Mission,' in the Mideast, Israeli armored forces invaded Gaza again. The incursion and a series of air strikes resulted in the highest number of Palestinians killed in a single day since 2006.

Barak orders Gaza crossings shut

"We will increase the pressure on the Gaza Strip in order to bring an end to the Kassam rocket fire,"

the Defense Minister said, continuing the slow starvation policy of collective punishment on over a million people.
