Exxon Mobil's Profits
Tops $40 Billion in 2007

Sets new world and USA records for
quarterly and annual corporate profits

Chevron, the nation's second-largest oil company, also reported big gains in earnings. (Ed Note: There is a connection between oil with wars and conflicts in the Middle East and Africa. Also, you have to wonder why the richest corporation in the world gets huge USA government subsidies while solar, alternative and clean energy solutions get token amounts of support.)

The Siege is Broken

If Egypt with Israel, nor the Palestinian Authority can control this border, some have suggested a return to border control by international monitors..

But Hamas is also opposed to this idea, stating, "The international monitors who were at the border were working as spies for the US and Israel and deciding who and what could get in"

Hamas thwarts Egypt's bid to block cars from Gaza and to close the broken border crossing.

Egyptians are now working with Israel to reseal the border. Sources in the Jerusalem Post would like to see them "lock the gate and throw the key into the sea."

Palestinian Authority President Abbas says his group should control this border and wants to restore his exclusive control not only over the Rafah border crossing, but over the entire Gaza Strip.
