More Bush Pre-War Lies Exposed

Senate report slams Bush over prewar intelligence

The Bush administration misused intelligence to build a case for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Senate Intelligence Committee said in a report issued Thursday. "Senior officials disclosed and discussed sensitive intelligence reports that supported the administration's policy objectives and kept out of public discourse information that did not,"the committee chairman, Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV said.

The report also found that the administration misled the American people about contacts between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. "Policymakers' statements did not accurately convey the intelligence assessments" about contacts between Hussein and bin Laden, "and left the impression that there was Iraqi cooperation or support of al Qaeda," the report said.

In making the case for war, the administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted or even nonexistent.

Pakistan opposition pushes for impeaching Musharraf

Musharraf "a virus in the democratic computer"

A junior party in Pakistan's government called Sunday for its main coalition partner to back the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf a day after he rebuffed calls from both parties to resign.

Musharraf and parliament "cannot co-exist".

The coalition has threatened to unravel because of a dispute between the two parties over whether restoration of dozens of judges sacked by Musharraf should be linked to a constitutional package that weakens the presidency and allows judicial reforms
