Jerusalem: 2B or not 2B?

The Dome of the Rock is located on an ancient man-made platform known as the Temple Mount to the Jews The platform, was the former site of the Second Jewish Temple which was destroyed during the Roman Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. In 637 AD, Jerusalem was conquered during the Islamic invasion of the Byzantine Empire. The Dome of the Rock was erected between 685 and 691 AD. Israel took control of the Dome of Rock during its victory in the Six-Day War in 1967. In Judaism the location of the stone is venerated as the holiest spot on Earth. A Zionist goal is to demolish the Dome and replace it with a Third Jewish Temple. The Dome of the Rock is also one of the holiest sites in Islam. According to Islamic tradition, the rock is the spot from where Muhammad ascended to Heaven.
Or is this the will and thinking of Jesus Christ? What would Jesus think? Once Jesus enter the Temple precincts and overturn some tables used by moneychangers and sellers of doves (Mark 11:15-19). "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers," Jeus said. Jesus also predicted that "Not one stone [of the Temple] will be left on another" (Matthew 24:2; Mark 13:2; Luke 21:6). The very reason for Jesus's arrest was first threatening to destroy the Temple, (before he was charged with blasphemy.) While he hung on the cross, some passersby taunted him: "you who would destroy the Temple, save yourself' (Matthew 27:40; Mark 15:29-30) It's clear what Jesus thought: After he was arrested witnesses said: "We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.'" (Mark 14:58) Jesus responded to this: "Jesus answered, 'My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn't be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.'" (John 18:36) BONUS BIBLICAL REFERENCE: What God said to King David: |
Israel braced itself for conflict on two fronts," the lead sentence of one of this week's news article read.In this week's Political Action News one initial idea was changed in that lead-in sentence: Israel threatens attack on two fronts," we said; which, actually, was the wording of the headline. But most often the person who writes the headlines is not the same as the person who writes the story. Most political news these days has "spin."We didn't want to change the story but to use the word: "braces," has a nuance of propping or firming something to stay in place. But Israel is not making itself stronger or more ready to deal with attack by others-- No! Israel is talking about going on the offensive, Israel is threatening to launch an attack on others. The United States of America has a problem with it's relationship with Israel and it has problems with it's policies in the Middle East, it's falsely started war in Iraq, and it's own threats towards Iran. This is our problem. This is one of our biggest problems. The interest and agenda of AIPAC and other Jewish lobbying groups puts the interest of Israel over and above the interest of the United States. This split loyality, favoring Israel over America, is leading us down a path of destruction. It drains us of blood; it drains us of time; it drains us of energy; it drains us of cash. It distorts our priorities and fails to correctly focus on what is truly best for our nation, truly best for ourselves now and in the future. QUOTE: --- "Mr. Olmert privately pronounced himself happy after his visit to the White House this week that Israel and America are of one mind over the possibility of military intervention against Tehran's nuclear programme." WHO'S "ONE MIND," IS SET ON ATTACKING IRAN? In George Washington's last words to our new country, in his farewell address to "avoid foreign entanglements," avoid being "engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns." "Steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world," Washington said, yet now our government acts as if it's "joined at the hip," with the fate of Israel and now we are "entangled," to the max because of a powerful Jewish lobby. Such special interest lobbying by groups like AIPAC were also condemned by Washington because such lobbies gave their cause: "an artificial and extraordinary force; to put in the place of the delegated will of the nation...to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans, digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests." Such lobbying groups, like AIPAS, "are likely in the course of time and things to become potent engines by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government." The worse of these special interest lobbying groups, BTW, Wahington mentioned in this Farewell Address, were those "founded... on geographical discriminations." What would George Washington think? He would think that we should leave the fate of Jerusalem to those who live there. He would think we should cease our one-sided support for Israel and get out of the Middle East. Neither George Washington or Jesus Christ, for christ's sake, would want us to support Israel seizing and controlling all of Jerusalem nor want us to support the rebuilding of The Temple. So this is not a "radical position," the real extremist views are those that led us down the road of our current misguided and warped policies. Let's put America back on track for the benefit of Americans. |
