Our Protective Oversight Mission

Bush

Iran is improving it's ballistic missiles.
We have tens of thousands more powerful)

Iran is (legally) seeking to develop nuclear power.

Iran is a threat to world peace so we have to attack them before I leave office.

(Note: Just because we're doing all the attacking first don't think that it's US that's the real threat to world peace. That would be absurd.)

In Bush's final State of the Union Speech last week in Congress he called for a "protective oversight mission," in Iraq.

Full of sleeping words and doze-off rhetoric Bush's last State of the Union was a rehash of his tired old trumpet calls for war, more spying on citizens, more tax cuts for the rich, etc.

Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama gave an insightful and succinct reply here.

The one phrase and objection that deserves to be singled out for special attention, though, is Bush calling for a "protective oversight mission," in Iraq.

What is a "protective oversight mission?"

Nobody knows. But it is with such vague terms and far-fetched threats that this man has lulled us to sleep and sneaked the nation into wars.

A protective oversight mission sounds like a new phrase for war but if you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig and it still smells.
