The Wreck of The Nation

How could such clearly worded rights be so blatantly disgraced?

A congressman introduces 35 reasons for impeachment and the next day that's put on the shelf to languish. It's almost laughed off as a joke or "kooky idea," but the Republicans impeached a President because he lied about having sex with a 24-year old intern and it's "crazy," to impeach a president who lied us into war and shreds our Constitution?

We're in trouble. We're in serious deep trouble.

We need to elect better leader, and we need to get our leaders to be better.

And we need to get rid of those leaders who have failed us, especially those who have broken the law, the Constitution, or lied us into false wars, so we can be thankful of this week's introduction of Articles of Impeachment against George Bush

We suppose to have rights in this country and those rights are suppose to extend to those in our custody. We're not suppose to hold people in jail forever, without any evidence or charged. That's not us; that's not who we're suppose to be.

It was a narrow Supreme Court decision that upheld this basis principle, only a vote of 5-4, such a close vote on a principle of Anglo-American law that goes back 800 years and is in our Constitution.

The very next day the Bush White House says it's going to try to avoid this Supreme Court ruling, try to work around it. But this is nothing something that can be avoided just by a new law; this can only change if we change the Constitution.

We're in trouble. We're in serious deep trouble..

Without doubt we must stay on the track of working hard in the elections this year to Defeat Republicans. There is no doubt about that. Defeat Republicans.

We need to elect better leaders and without doubt this year that means voting for Barack Obama, but wouldn't it be nice if all the Democrats in Congress could flex some muscle and do something to end this horror of false war and this dragging of our nation through the shredder.

Sometime when you're up to you ass in alligators it's difficult to remember that your mission was to drain the swamp.

But we're here to "drain the swamp," drain our nation of the murk and slime of the Bush Administration. We can be thankful of this weeks Supreme Court decision and such a narrow vote shows how important it is to have a president who will appoint good judges.
