You have to wonder what "national debate," we’re going to have next? Is it a crime to deliberately fabricate false documents to lie and mislead a nation into war?
The election of President Obama is a tremendous victory and a great step forward, especially in contrast to the Bush nightmare years, but the forces and the special interests that created true criminals and perverts like Dick Cheney - war profiteers -- have not gone away.
Nor can the President do everything at once or even has the power to do all he'd like. Most clearly, he can not do it alone and he can not be the only one going out on a limb to get us back on the right track for our country, back on the best track of living up to our Constitution, our laws, our principles and our ideals.
And beating prisoners to death is bad, too.
Torture is a crime.
